27-Acre Dave Erwin Park Approved
A massive new park is on the way to North Palm Desert.
Dave Erwin Park will span 27 acres once complete.
It will be built on the northeast corner of Dinah Shore and Gerald Ford Drive.
The park is expected to include pickleball courts, a splash pad, a community garden, and several other amenities.
Palm Desert officials say it’s part of a long-term plan to enhance public spaces in the area.
The goal is to provide more family-friendly options and outdoor activities for residents.
Construction is scheduled to begin between March 20 and 26.
City officials project that the park will be completed by late 2027.
The entire project is expected to cost around $19 million.
Dave Erwin Park is named in honor of a respected community member.
Leaders believe the new park will bring a positive economic and social impact.
Once completed, it could become one of the largest recreational spaces in the valley.
