An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Saturday, April 26, 2025!

As an upper-level low moves across the Southwest, some areas of Southern California will experience rain, snow, strong winds, poor air quality and cooler temperatures.

A Wind Advisory has been posted for the West end of the Coachella Valley, San Gorgonio Pass, High Desert and area mountains through Saturday evening. On-shore winds will strengthen throughout the afternoon into the evening hours.

An Air Quality Alert has been extended through Saturday night as gusty Westerly winds once again elevate lots of dust and dirt. Because of building sand, typical road closures will also be a concern.

This system will also bring some precipitation to SoCal today. Although the Coachella Valley will remain rain-free, on-and-off scattered showers are possible from the San Gorgonio Pass into the Inland Empire to the Coast through tonight.

Also, a Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for area mountains above 5500-feet where up to 3-inches of snow is possible.

This system will also cool temperatures for the weekend. The Coachella Valley will experience below-normal high temperatures in the 70s both today and tomorrow. To put it in context, Palm Springs' average high temperature for late-April is 89°.

Skies clear, winds back-off, and temperatures warm closer to season normals beginning Monday.
