New 27-Acre Dave Irwin Park Coming to North Palm Desert

A major new park is coming to North Palm Desert. Officials have announced plans for Dave Irwin Park, a 27-acre community space that will offer a wide range of amenities, including pickleball courts, a splash pad, and a community garden.

The park will be located at the northeast corner of Dinah Shore Drive and Gerald Ford Drive, providing easy access for residents across the area.

Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2026. City officials expect the project to be completed by late 2027. The total cost for the new park is estimated at $19 million.

Dave Irwin Park is designed to meet the growing recreational needs of Palm Desert’s expanding community, offering residents and visitors a new place to gather, play, and enjoy outdoor activities.
