NBC is serving up a brand-new culinary competition Monday night with the premiere of "Yes Chef," following The Voice.
Hosted by culinary icons Martha Stewart and Chef José Andrés, "Yes Chef" features 12 talented chefs battling not just for a $250,000 prize, but also for personal growth. Each contestant entered the competition without knowing who their hosts would be — and were stunned when Stewart and Andrés made their surprise appearance.
Stewart, a household name in food and hospitality, and Andrés, a world-renowned chef and Medal of Freedom recipient for his humanitarian work with World Central Kitchen, bring both expertise and mentorship to the table.
"This competition goes beyond cooking skills," Andrés said. "It's about leadership, creativity, and overcoming personal challenges."
Contestants will have to address not only their kitchen skills but personality traits that could be holding them back, from stubbornness and ego to impatience and anger.
"It's a little intimidating to cook for these two legends," one contestant admitted.
While only one chef will walk away with the grand prize, the goal of "Yes Chef" is to help all of the participants become the best versions of themselves — both in and out of the kitchen.
Catch the premiere of "Yes Chef" Monday night on NBC, immediately following The Voice.
