What You Need To Know Before You Go After Stagecoach
It's Monday which means it's time for Know Before You Go where we tell you about all the traffic and roadway construction you need to know so you can avoid getting caught in traffic during your weekly commute.

Stagecoach Wrap-Up: Expect Heavy Traffic
With Stagecoach Festival wrapping up, traffic is expected to be heavy, especially around Monroe Street, Jefferson Street, and Washington Street. RVs and festival-goers are already making their way out, and special traffic coordination plans are in place to help ease the congestion.
If you're planning to head west on the I-10 freeway, leave as early as possible — by mid-morning, the freeways and surface streets will be packed, and congestion will last well into the afternoon.
Hotspots to watch out for:
Avenue 42 at Washington Street (Palm Desert)
Highway 74 at Highway 111
Navigation apps like Waze may reroute traffic through these areas, so expect extra delays.
Looking Ahead: Busy Summer for Roadwork
Kris also gave us a heads-up that summer will bring even more major projects, including additional repaving on Highway 111 and a slurry seal project in Palm Desert.

Palm Springs is mourning the loss of beloved entertainer James “Gypsy” Haake, who has died at 94. Haake began his entertainment career at just 19 years old as a Broadway chorus dancer. After retiring from the stage, he returned to performing at 82, becoming the host of Carnival Cabaret at Oscars in downtown Palm Springs. A longtime friend of our station, Haake was a familiar and beloved figure in the Palm Springs entertainment community — and his contributions were recognized with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
