COD Hosts Superintendent Town Hall
College of the Desert is one step closer to choosing its new Superintendent/President.
After slimming down the list from 73 candidates, the Board of Trustees has four finalists who presented their qualifications Thursday night at a public forum and Q&A session.
That was held May 1 at the Palm Desert campus Pollock Theater, where each candidate was given about 40 minutes to present their stances on key issues facing students, faculty, and the community.
The candidates are as follows:
Dr. Monica Chahal, Interim President, Clovis Community College
Val Martinez Garcia, Acting Superintendent/President, College of the Desert
Dr. Kimberlee S. Messina, President, Spokane Falls Community College
Dr. Don Moya-Miller, Vice President/Assistant Superintendent, Rio Hondo College
Following the forum, which can be watched here, this morning, the College of the Desert Board of Trustees is holding a closed session meeting. That meeting should involve final interviews with the candidates and the board, planning to announce a final decision on the matter soon.
They plan to announce their selection at an unspecified upcoming meeting.
