Palm Desert’s Joshua at Los Primos Surprised with $1,000 Tip as Server of the Week
A routine lunch shift turned unforgettable for Joshua, a server at Los Primos in Palm Desert, who was honored as this week’s “Server of the Week” and surprised with a $1,000 tip. The recognition, presented by Anthony from Honda and Toyota of the Desert in partnership with NBC, celebrates exceptional service and the hardworking individuals who make local dining experiences memorable.
Joshua, visibly moved by the gesture, expressed gratitude and humility upon receiving the award. “I don’t know if I deserve this because we’re a team, obviously,” he said, emphasizing the collaborative spirit at Los Primos. “It’s easy to take care of everything when the food’s good,” Joshua added, crediting the chefs and owners for creating an environment where great service thrives.
When asked how he would use the $1,000, Joshua’s thoughtful answer—“Save it”—stood out, drawing smiles and applause from those present. Guests and staff alike praised his kindness and attentiveness, noting that he was always ready to help and made every visit special.
The “Server of the Week” program shines a spotlight on local servers who go above and beyond, reminding the community of the value of excellent hospitality. Joshua’s heartfelt reaction and team-first attitude made this week’s surprise especially meaningful. Congratulations to Joshua and the entire Los Primos team for making Palm Desert proud—one meal and one smile at a time.
