RFK Asks CDC To Look At Alternative Treatments for Measles
Robert F Kennedy Jr. is asking the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to look for new treatments for measles. The Health and Human Services Secretary wants the CDC to look at medications and alternative therapies, such as vitamins. In a statement, HHS noted the CDC recommends the measles vaccine as the most effective way to prevent the disease. But it added that some people may choose not to get the shot, and wants a way to support those people as well. There is also no specific treatment for measles once someone is infected. This comes as a measles outbreak in west Texas has grown to nearly 800 cases.
