Firebirds even the series with a 5-4 win over Abbotsford in OT

The Coachella Valley Firebirds tied the best-of-five series at one on Saturday night at Acrisure Arena with a thrilling 5-4 win in overtime over the Abbotsford Canucks. Jacob Melanson found the back of the net for the game-winning goal. A three-goal first period by the Firebirds jump-started the party with an electric atmosphere inside Acrisure Arena. Abbotsford would climb all the way back to tie the game at three in the third period, before taking the lead with under six minutes to go. Firebirds forward Ben Meyers tied the game at four to force overtime. Tim O'Brien has more.
