Possible Fentanyl Exposure Reported at Desert Mirage High School; Investigation Underway

A possible fentanyl exposure at a local high school has prompted a response from emergency crews and law enforcement. The incident occurred Monday at Desert Mirage High School in the Coachella Valley Unified School District.

According to Cal Fire, a suspected overdose was reported on campus, leading to a multi-agency response. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department says three adults and one minor may have been exposed to fentanyl.

Two of the adults were transported to a nearby hospital. Their current conditions have not been released.

The Sheriff's Department has launched an investigation to confirm whether fentanyl was involved and to determine how the substance came into contact with those affected.

Officials have not confirmed whether the individuals exposed were staff members, students, or visitors. The school district has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
