"They’re Just Like You and Me": Faces Behind Homelessness in the Coachella Valley

At a town hall hosted by the president of Well in the Desert, Matthew Naylor, at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, residents and homeless individuals shared powerful testimonies on the realities of homelessness in the Coachella Valley. With 200 more people experiencing homelessness in Palm Springs since the start of the year, Naylor says community members called for urgent reform, empathy, and solutions grounded in lived experiences—not bureaucracy.
