Firebirds Face Off in Pivotal Game 3 as Fans Rally at Rancho Mirage Watch Party

The Coachella Valley Firebirds hit the road tonight in a crucial Game 3 matchup against the Abbotsford Canucks, and fans back home are bringing the energy to Rancho Mirage. NBC Palm Springs’ Tim O’Brien is on-site at Burgers & Beer, where a lively viewing party is underway—complete with rally towels, t-shirts, and exclusive Firebirds giveaways.

The best-of-five series is tied 1-1 after a dramatic overtime win for the Firebirds in Game 2. Now, with the next two games being played north of the border, the team faces the challenge of stealing a win—or two—in Abbotsford’s tough home environment.

“We’ve got a full sound system here, and I expect this place to be packed,” said O’Brien, holding a Firebirds Western Conference All-Star team-signed stick—one of many prizes being raffled off tonight.

In addition to the Rancho Mirage festivities, another Firebirds viewing party is being hosted at the Taproom inside Spotlight 29 Casino, where team representatives are helping pump up the crowd.

As the Firebirds take the ice, they'll look to keep up their flawless penalty kill—currently 11-for-11 in the postseason—while also fixing a power play unit that has yet to score in the playoffs (0-for-10). Offensive threats like Yanni Newman, Ryan Winterton, Brandon Biro, Ben Meyers, and Logan Morrison will need to lead the way if the Firebirds hope to pull ahead in the series.

Fans are encouraged to join the watch parties, participate in the giveaways, and help fuel the Firebirds’ playoff run with Valley pride.
