Assemblyman Gonzalez Holds Indio Town Hall
Earlier today, Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez met with residents during a community town hall in Indio.
The event took place at the Indio Community Center and welcomed all from Assembly District 36.
It served as an opportunity for constituents to hear legislative updates and ask direct questions.
Gonzalez, elected in 2024, is a first-generation American and a U.S. Marine veteran.
He emphasized the importance of eliminating barriers between representatives and the public.
“The most important thing is that they feel they can talk to me,” Gonzalez said.
He described the town hall as a way to cut through formality and foster open dialogue.
Topics ranged from state legislation to local issues impacting everyday lives.
Many residents voiced concerns and shared feedback directly with the Assemblyman.
Gonzalez says community engagement like this is a core part of his leadership style.
The event comes ahead of the 2026 election, where he’s set to face Oscar Ortiz.
Today’s turnout reflected growing public interest in state politics and local representation.
