Two Babies Born on Mother’s Day Weekend

Mother’s Day brought extra joy to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Two moms welcomed their newborns just in time for the special day. Baby Mateo arrived on May 10th, aligning with Mother’s Day celebrations across Latin America. His mother, Jocelyn Martinez, called it a moment she’ll never forget. It was her very first Mother’s Day—made unforgettable by Mateo’s birth. Just hours later, in the early morning, baby Saylor made her debut. Her mom, Courtney Velasquez, was overjoyed by the heartfelt surprise. Both families celebrated the holiday surrounded by love and support. The team at Desert Regional’s Women & Infants Center played a key role in the memorable day. With a Level 3 NICU, they offer critical care to newborns across the region.
