Eisenhower Health Unveils Daisy Award Statue to Honor Nurses During National Nurses Week
As National Nurses Week comes to a close, Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage marked the occasion by unveiling a meaningful tribute to the compassion and dedication of nurses and caregivers.
A new Daisy Garden was officially dedicated on the hospital grounds, featuring a prominent replica of the Daisy Award statue known as the Healer’s Touch. The statue, created by a Shona artist from Zimbabwe, is a larger version of the award presented to Daisy Award-winning nurses worldwide.
“I hope that this is a place of serenity for not only nurses but for patients and their families,” said Ben Farber, Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer for Eisenhower Health. “The garden honors our Daisy nurses and all caregivers, offering them a quiet space to sit and reflect, especially after difficult days.”
The Daisy Foundation is an international organization that recognizes the extraordinary work and meaningful impact of nurses across the globe. The new garden and statue are intended to serve as a lasting symbol of appreciation for the healthcare providers at Eisenhower Health.
“For me, as a bedside nurse, it’s very emotional and exciting to be recognized in this way by our health care team and leadership,” one nurse shared. “Knowing that they want to say thank you means so much.”
The Daisy Garden also serves as a peaceful retreat for all caregivers at the hospital, providing a beautifully landscaped area to relax and reflect in the midst of their demanding work schedules.
