A Taste of Magic: Disneyland's 70th Anniversary Delivers Decades of Deliciousness

Good morning from Disney California Adventure, where the celebration for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary isn’t just magical — it’s absolutely mouthwatering. Chloe Carlson brings viewers an up-close look at the special culinary creations made just for this milestone year, and the treats are as whimsical as they are delicious.

Joining Chloe on-air is Christina, a seasoned pastry sous chef who has been crafting Disney delights for over two decades. The table between them is a rainbow of sweets and savory bites designed to celebrate “seven decades of happiness.”

“This food looks amazing, by the way,” Chloe remarks, eyes wide as Christina begins breaking down the spread.

At the top of the lineup are Mickey waffles with a strawberry whipped topping, a fun and flavorful way to start the day. Then there’s a hearty fried tamale walking taco, topped with Walt’s favorite chili, a nod to the beloved founder's tastes. That same chili makes an appearance again — this time paired with a baked potato and topped with cornbread.

Next on the nostalgic food tour are the loaded cowboy fries, a tribute to the hamburgers once sold in Frontierland. They’re piled high with flavors that recall the park's early days.

Of course, no celebration would be complete without a cool treat. Enter the classic banana split — the perfect sunny-day indulgence.

“And we can't end without talking about this amazing pastry,” says Chloe, pointing to a unique and eye-catching dessert. Christina smiles, “This one is from Casa de Fritos — it’s a mocha-filled cream puff topped with chocolate-covered corn chips.” A delightful blend of sweet and salty, it's one of the most inventive items on the menu.

Chloe also shines a spotlight on a special cookie — shaped like the original Mickey Mouse ears — made by Christina herself. “You made that cookie?” Chloe asks with admiration. “I love that!”

The segment ends with a taste test of the mocha cream puff. As Chloe bites in, her reaction says it all: “Oh my goodness, look at that inside.”

The culinary team at Disneyland has created a food experience that’s not just about flavor but about storytelling — each dish a delicious chapter from the park’s 70-year journey.

As Chloe signs off with a full plate and a full heart, she promises more Disney delights still to come.
