An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Thursday, May 15, 2025!

Like yesterday, the Coachella Valley will be under lots of sunshine today with dry air and near-normal high temperatures in the lower-to-middle 90s. Because of strong evening breezes, an Air Quality Alert has been posted for the Valley through Friday morning.

Basically, more-of-the-same for Friday, but with thickening clouds later-in-the-day.

As a trough of low pressure moves through Southern California this weekend, on-shore winds will become an issue. A Wind Advisory and Air Quality Alert will likely be posted for our area for both Saturday and Sunday.

This frontal boundary will also play a role in pulling-down our midday highs into the middle-80s for Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Next -- as an upper-level ridge of high pressure nudges its way over Southern California -- Valley temperatures will heat-up into the triple-digits beginning Wednesday of next week.
