Disney Unveils “World of Color – ONE” Inspired by Inside Out for 70th Anniversary

As part of the park’s 70th anniversary celebration, Disney has launched a brand-new installment of its famed World of Color show—and it’s all about emotions.

We caught up with Duncan, the producer behind the dazzling entertainment experience, who shared the vision behind the latest spectacle. “For the 70th celebration, we thought—what better way to honor 70 decades of happiness than with a show that explores what happiness truly means?” said Duncan.

The show, inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out, takes guests on a vibrant emotional journey. With Joy and Sadness leading the way, the performance uses lights, music, and animated water effects to represent the many shades of happiness.

Duncan demonstrated how the fountains can be controlled in real time, allowing even guests to get a small taste of the behind-the-scenes magic. “It’s amazing how a few simple elements can bring the water to life,” he explained.

And yes—Joy herself made a surprise appearance, exuding boundless energy and excitement. When asked how she felt about the new show, she responded with her signature enthusiasm—beaming, waving, and bringing smiles to everyone around.

“This is a celebration of what Disney does best—making people happy,” Duncan added. “And we’re thrilled to share that joy with everyone who comes to the park.”

So if you’re heading to Disney California Adventure, don’t miss this emotional rollercoaster of a water show. It’s a celebration of seven decades of happiness—splashing its way into hearts one fountain at a time.
