Disneyland Kicks Off 70th Anniversary Celebration with Magic, Memories, and a Whole Lot of Fun

The sun is just beginning to rise over the Happiest Place on Earth, and the celebration is already in full swing. Tiani Jadulang, reporting live from Disneyland Park in Anaheim, shares the excitement from right in front of the stunning Sleeping Beauty Castle, now beautifully adorned with a shimmering "70" carriage, symbolizing seven decades of Disney magic.

“Mary, you said it best. We’re celebrating all things magic here at Disneyland Park,” said Tiani. “And what better place to kick things off than in front of the most magical spot in the park?”

Joining her for the special moment was Disneyland spokesperson Alexa Garcia, who shared insight into what makes this anniversary so significant.

“It’s just such a wonderful celebration,” Garcia said. “We’re marking 70 years of Disney magic, and there’s so much to see and do for everyone—from classic rides to brand-new experiences.”

Among the highlights returning for the milestone celebration are the beloved “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular and the fan-favorite “Paint the Night Parade,” both lighting up Disneyland evenings once again. And it wouldn’t be a Disney celebration without food and merch to match.

New anniversary-themed merchandise is available in four collectible collections, and fans can look forward to special attraction updates as well. Disney California Adventure’s Toy Story Midway Mania features new 70th-anniversary touches, while “It’s a Small World” welcomes Coco’s Miguel and Dante into its magical world.

But what truly brings the park to life are the cast members and characters. Chip and Dale made a surprise appearance in colorful, retro-inspired outfits, collecting “wishes” in their pouches and delighting guests of all ages.

“This is really the start of something special,” said Tiani. “It doesn’t get better than this at the most magical place on earth.”

With more to come, including a segment from the Main Street train station and additional surprises from correspondent Chloe Carlson later in the broadcast, Disneyland’s 70th anniversary promises to be an unforgettable experience for all who visit.
