College of the Desert Finalists Announced
College of the Desert has narrowed its search for a new superintendent to four finalists.
They’re now asking for community input before making a final decision.
The candidates bring diverse leadership experience from across California and beyond.
Val Martinez Garcia, the college’s acting superintendent, is among the finalists.
Dr. Monica Cha-Hal currently serves as interim president at Clovis Community College.
Dr. Kimberlee Messina is the president of Spokane Falls Community College.
Dr. Don Moya-Miller holds the role of vice president at Rio Hondo College.
Each candidate brings a unique vision for the future of COD.
Students, faculty, and community members are encouraged to meet them in person.
A public forum is scheduled for May 1st at the Palm Desert campus.
Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and share feedback.
The final decision is expected to follow shortly after the forum.
