Palm Springs Offers Mental Health Support, Healing Events After Terrorist Attack

The recent terrorist attack in downtown Palm Springs has left many residents feeling shaken, anxious, and uncertain. To help the community process the emotional aftermath, the City of Palm Springs is offering mental health support and hosting free healing events.

On EngagePalmSprings.com, residents can find a growing list of resources, including an FAQ page with the latest official information, mental health guidance, and details on how to get support.

One of the main support options is a series of community healing events hosted by the LGBTQ+ Community Center of the Desert, commonly known as The Center. These events are designed to offer a safe space for anyone affected by the bombing to connect, express their feelings, and receive emotional support.

The Center is holding four free drop-in group therapy sessions. The first session takes place tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. No reservations are required, and all are welcome.

Organizers encourage anyone struggling with stress, anxiety, or trauma from the recent attack to come and feel supported by the community and licensed facilitators.

The city and local partners emphasize that these events are just the beginning of ongoing support for those impacted. Whether you're directly affected or simply feeling the weight of this tragedy, resources are available.
