Disney Announces First-Ever Theme Park in the Middle East, Set for Abu Dhabi

Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the Disney family are heading to the Middle East. The Walt Disney Company has announced plans to build a new theme park and resort in Abu Dhabi—marking its first venture in the region and its first new theme park development in 15 years.

The Abu Dhabi destination will become Disney’s seventh global resort location. According to company officials, the development will be located about 20 minutes from downtown and will feature a full-scale theme park along with multiple hotels.

Disney is partnering with a regional development company to bring the ambitious project to life. While few details about the park's specific attractions have been released, the company says it's aiming to open the resort by 2030.

This move reflects Disney's broader strategy of expanding its global footprint while tapping into emerging travel markets. With existing parks in the U.S., France, Japan, China, and Hong Kong, the Abu Dhabi park will mark Disney’s first-ever presence in the Middle East.
