Nike Returns to Amazon After Five-Year Absence, Plans Price Hikes
Nike is making a comeback on Amazon after a more than five-year absence—and it’s doing so with price increases for select products starting June 1.
The move marks a strategic shift under Nike’s new CEO, who is working to reverse a recent slump in revenue. The company had pulled its products from Amazon in 2019 to focus on driving sales through its own website and a smaller group of third-party retailers. But as sales have fallen in recent years, Nike is now exploring new avenues for growth.
According to a source familiar with the company’s plans, Nike shoes priced at $100 or more will see price increases ranging from $5 to $10. However, children’s apparel and footwear, products under $100, and iconic lines such as Air Force One shoes and Michael Jordan-branded apparel and accessories will maintain their current prices.
The company did not cite U.S. tariffs as a reason for the increases in its announcement.
Nike’s return to Amazon may signal a broader shift in strategy as it looks to re-engage customers through more accessible retail platforms while adjusting prices to reflect current market pressures.
