OpenAI and Nvidia Partner to Build Stargate AI Infrastructure in UAE

OpenAI and Nvidia are teaming up with other major tech firms to launch a new artificial intelligence infrastructure project in the United Arab Emirates.

The effort is part of Stargate UAE, a sister project to the recently announced expansion of AI infrastructure in the United States. The initiative is expected to play a key role in advancing global AI development and capacity.

Back in January, the CEOs of OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle revealed plans to create a new company called Stargate. That vision is now growing with the addition of Nvidia, Cisco, and UAE-based AI firm G42, who have all signed on to develop Stargate UAE in Abu Dhabi.

The project’s first phase will involve constructing a 200-megawatt AI cluster, with completion and launch targeted for 2026.

Stargate UAE is being positioned as a critical part of the global strategy to build scalable and resilient AI systems, tapping into both international expertise and local innovation.
