Palm Springs Police Dispel Conspiracy Rumors After Fertility Clinic Bombing

In the aftermath of Saturday’s bombing outside American Reproductive Centers in Palm Springs, a wave of conspiracy theories has spread online. NBC Palm Springs spoke exclusively with Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills to clarify the facts and stop the spread of misinformation.

Chief Mills firmly dismissed two major rumors: the claim that a mailman is missing and the speculation that a second bomb went off. “There are no additional victims than have already been identified and spoken with and interviewed. The mailman is not missing,” he said.

As for the theory of a second explosion, Chief Mills explained that no additional devices were found. “There was no secondary bomb. We were just making sure that there was no other device,” he said, detailing the extensive search effort that included bomb-sniffing dogs from Redlands and the Sheriff’s Office. “Those dogs sniffed 300 square yards of parking garage on multiple levels. There is no other bomb.”

Chief Mills urged the public to disregard misinformation circulating on social media and the dark web, warning that such sources are unreliable and often sensationalized. Instead, he encouraged the community to focus on supporting the recovery effort by helping local businesses impacted by the blast. “Dine out. Make a donation. That’s how we heal,” Mills said.
