An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Saturday, May 24, 2025: Winds!

As a couple of Waves swing through the Southwest this week, Westerly winds will be an issue.

On-shore winds will ramp-up during the late-afternoon/evening hours today and again tomorrow especially in those wind-prone areas in Southern California.

A Wind Advisory has been posted (through Sunday 3a) for the San Gorgonio Pass and also includes the very West end of the Coachella Valley and communities like Desert Hot Springs.

Also -- because of windblown dust and dirt -- an Air Quality Alert has been posted (through Monday 5a) for the Coachella Valley and San Gorgonio Pass.

It appears West winds will once again become a bit gusty on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as another low moves through the Southwest early next week. Stay tuned!
