Accomplices Arrested in Orleans Jail Escape

It’s been over a week since ten inmates escaped from the Orleans Parish Jail.
The fugitives face charges ranging from drug violations to murder.
Now, the investigation is expanding beyond just the escapees.
Authorities have begun arresting individuals accused of helping the inmates.
This weekend, two accomplices were taken into custody: Linton Van Buren Sr. and Angel McKee.
Both face accessory after the fact charges, with bonds set at over $1 million.
Van Buren Sr. shares a name with one of the inmates still on the run.
Law enforcement officials emphasize the severity of the situation.
“This isn’t a game,” one officer warned, “this is real danger to the public.”
Several of the escapees have prior convictions or pending charges for violent crimes.
The U.S. Marshals say additional accomplices are likely to be identified and arrested.
Search efforts continue, and officials are confident the remaining inmates will be found.
