Rancho Mirage Baseball Dominates in CIF Southern Section Matchup; Softball Playoff Run Continues

Rancho Mirage baseball took the field today in a CIF Southern Section playoff matchup against St. Monica High School from Los Angeles. In an unusual twist, the teams agreed to an earlier start time of 2 p.m., allowing St. Monica’s players to return home in time for their prom.

The Rattlers wasted no time setting the tone, scoring two runs in the first inning. Their momentum continued with runs in the fifth and sixth innings, and they capped off the game with three more in the sixth. The final score: Rancho Mirage 6, St. Monica 0.

The Rattlers will continue their playoff push on May 27th, facing the winner of Pacific Christian versus Estancia High School, two formidable teams from Orange County.

Meanwhile, Rancho Mirage’s softball team, the Lady Rattlers, is set to travel to Westminster for their next CIF Southern Section playoff matchup. We’ll bring you a full recap of that game tomorrow night.
