A Second Suspect In The Crypto-kidnapping Case In New York City Has Turned Himself In To Police
A second suspect connected to the kidnapping and torture of an italian man in an effort to steal his digital currency has turned himself in to authorities. William Duplessie surrendered, with his lawyers, to the NYPD'S major case squad detectives unit. Officials say he is a business partner of John Woeltz, known by some as the crypto king of Kentucky". The victim, an italian citizen, was another business partner of the two men and was allegedly held inside a townhome for more than two weeks after he refused to turn over his bitcoin password to Woeltz. Woeltz was arrested Friday and faces charges including kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and assault, among others.
He was ordered to be held without bond. Duplessie's alleged involvement in the case wasn't immediately clear.
