The Agua Caliente Entertainment Report, brought to you by Agua Caliente Casinos, recapped an exciting night in entertainment as the American Music Awards took center stage in Las Vegas.
Billie Eilish was the evening's biggest winner, sweeping all seven categories she was nominated for, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Eilish, currently on tour, was unable to attend the ceremony. Jennifer Lopez, who served double duty as host and performer, kicked off the event with an energetic medley of this year’s hits.
Janet Jackson was honored with the 2025 Icon Award and delivered her first television performance in seven years. Sir Rod Stewart closed the show with a heartfelt rendition of Forever Young as he accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Switching to TV, NBC welcomes back America’s Got Talent tonight with Mel B returning to the judging panel. The long-running talent showcase, a summer staple since 2006, promises more incredible performances as it kicks off a new season. Following AGT is the premiere of Destination X, a new reality competition where contestants travel blindfolded through Europe, competing for a $250,000 prize. Hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the show promises twists and surprises.
Meanwhile, filmmakers Danny and Michael Filippo, known for Talk To Me, return with a chilling new supernatural thriller. Their latest project stars two-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins in a role that pushed her limits. “She really went there,” said the directors. The movie follows siblings who discover eerie secrets about their new foster mother and embark on a terrifying journey.
