Coachella Valley Weather: Seasonal Heat Through Friday, Humid Cooldown This Weekend
Coachella Valley Forecast: Seasonal Warmth Continues Before Humid Weekend Cooldown
Happy Tuesday, Coachella Valley! The desert is experiencing another beautiful day, with warm and mostly sunny skies setting the tone for much of the week. Temperatures today are hovering around 101°F, which is just slightly above average for late May.
Expect similar conditions on Wednesday, with highs ranging between 98°F and 102°F and the possibility of a few high clouds passing through. A ridge of high pressure over Southern California will dominate through Thursday and Friday, keeping the region dry and warm with triple-digit temperatures continuing.
As we approach the weekend, a shift in the weather pattern is on the horizon. A low-pressure system currently situated near the central Baja Peninsula is expected to edge closer to Southern California. This system is drawing tropical moisture into the region, bringing an uptick in relative humidity—forecast to hit around 40% by Sunday. While temperatures will start to cool slightly, the increase in humidity will make the air feel a bit sticky and muggy.
Rain chances remain low for the Coachella Valley itself, but other parts of Southern California may see a few scattered showers. For the desert floor, the primary impacts will be the stickier air and a noticeable drop in temperature. By Tuesday of next week, daytime highs are forecast to dip into the low 90s—a welcome break from the triple-digit heat.
7-Day Outlook Highlights:
Tuesday to Friday: Highs in the low 100s, mostly sunny and dry.
Saturday & Sunday: Cooler, more humid conditions with highs in the mid to upper 90s.
Next Week: Continued cooling trend with highs in the low 90s by Tuesday.
Keep your sunscreen handy for the rest of the week, but maybe also prepare for a bit of that tropical "stickiness" over the weekend. Stay cool, Coachella Valley!
