Taylor Swift Reclaims Her Entire Music Catalog in Latest Victory
Taylor Swift has officially regained control of her entire music catalog, a major milestone in her ongoing battle for ownership of her work.
In a statement posted Friday to her official website, Swift revealed: “All of the music I’ve ever made now belongs to me.” The singer purchased her original catalog of recordings — initially released through Big Machine Records — from its most recent owner, private equity firm Shamrock Capital. While the price of the deal has not been disclosed, Shamrock Capital expressed its support, stating, “We are thrilled with this outcome and are so happy for Taylor.”
Swift’s journey to reclaim her music began after music manager Scooter Braun acquired and later sold the rights to her early catalog. In response, Swift launched a series of “Taylor’s Version” re-recordings, offering not just new versions of her original songs, but also previously unreleased “from the vault” tracks, hidden messages, and visuals that deepen fans’ understanding of her artistry.
This move marks a significant step for Swift in regaining creative control over her legacy and ensuring her music is presented the way she intended.
