American Ninja Warrior Returns Tonight with Season 17 and Exciting Changes
NBC’s long-running summer favorite American Ninja Warrior returns tonight for its 17th season, and fans can expect thrilling new challenges and high-energy competition. In a shift from past seasons, this year’s finals in Las Vegas will feature head-to-head racing, with ninjas competing directly against one another in a high-stakes race to the finish.
Gary Weiland, a deputy fire marshal from Denton, Texas, highlights this season’s inspirational stories. Weiland, who competes with a prosthetic leg, showcases resilience and determination during Monday’s season premiere. “The energy is electric, and it also lets you put into perspective just how talented these ninjas are,” commented Zuri Hall, who reports on the competitors throughout the season.
Returning hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Bajabi Amila bring their signature enthusiasm and commentary as ninjas old and new push the boundaries of what’s possible. “It was awesome to watch them push the limits, find new barriers, and then break through them again,” said Iseman.
This season, filmed entirely in Las Vegas, features a mix of veteran ninjas and young competitors who weren’t even born when the show began. “We were kind of worried, like, oh my God, are the young ninjas going to dominate? But some of our old-school ninjas showed up big time,” Iseman teased.
Viewers can look forward to an exciting blend of fresh talent, inspiring stories, and a new format designed to test the ninjas’ speed, agility, and endurance like never before.
Don’t miss American Ninja Warrior Season 17’s premiere tonight on NBC.
