New Study Links Daily Coffee to Healthier Aging in Middle-Aged Women

New research suggests that a regular coffee habit could lead to healthier aging for middle-aged women.

A study involving more than 47,000 women in their 50s found that those who consumed one to three cups of caffeinated coffee daily were more likely to reach older age in good physical, mental, and cognitive health — and free from major chronic diseases. The findings come from long-term dietary data collected as part of the well-known Nurse’s Health Study.

Researchers say the positive outcomes were only observed in those who drank regular, caffeinated coffee. Tea and decaffeinated coffee did not show the same benefits.

Experts caution that while the results are promising, they do not prove a cause-and-effect relationship. Still, for women who already enjoy a moderate coffee routine, the news may be one more reason to keep sipping.
