Second Baby Bald Eagle Fledges from Nest Under Watchful Eyes

Gizmo, the second of two baby bald eagles with a devoted online following, successfully fledged from the nest at 8:27 a.m. this morning. After a brief stretch on the "front porch" of the nest, Gizmo took flight—awkwardly but successfully—landing on the nearby Simba tree. Her sibling, Sunny, fledged five days earlier and has briefly returned to the nest since. Proud eagle parents Jackie and Shadow continue to watch over their young as they take their first flights and begin exploring the world beyond the nest.
