Runaway Zebra ‘Ed’ Safely Rescued in Tennessee

A zebra on the run in Tennessee has finally been found safe and sound. Nicknamed “Zebra Ed” by the internet, the animal had been on the loose since June 1st. Viral videos showed the striped escapee darting through fields and even across busy highways. On Sunday, Ed’s wild adventure came to an end in Rutherford County. He was discovered in a pasture near Buchanan Estates in Christiana, Tennessee. In a dramatic rescue, aviation crews airlifted him by helicopter back to his owner. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were standing by to ensure public safety—especially after Ed was spotted crossing both eastbound and westbound lanes of a nearby interstate. Drivers couldn’t believe their eyes as the zebra dashed across traffic. Social media quickly lit up, turning Ed into a national meme sensation. Posts poured in from across the country celebrating his daring escape. On Facebook, the sheriff’s office called it an “international sensation.” Thankfully, the story ends with Ed safely home and a lot of smiles online.
