Homeland Security Releases Suspect Profiles in Ongoing Immigration Arrests

As federal immigration efforts intensify in Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley, the Department of Homeland Security has released new details and photos of several suspects arrested during recent enforcement operations.

Officials describe these arrests as part of a targeted effort to detain individuals with serious criminal records. Among those highlighted:

  • Rafael Gomez Sanchez, who has a prior conviction for vehicular manslaughter, was taken into custody during the latest sweep.

  • Zakhar Aslambagov, a Russian national, was detained on fraud-related charges involving misuse of U.S. government assistance programs such as Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards.

A newly released image shows federal agents from both Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the FBI posing with one of the suspects following an arrest. The agencies say the coordinated action is focused on public safety.

More suspect profiles have been shared on the Department of Homeland Security's official account on X, formerly known as Twitter.

These operations are unfolding amid growing legal and political pushback across California. Governor Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta recently filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump, challenging his order to federalize the California National Guard in connection with these raids.
