Judge Denies Emergency Order Blocking Trump Administration From Using National Guard To Enforce Laws
A federal judge has denied California's request for an emergency order to block the Trump administration from using the State's National Guard for immigration enforcement.
But the judge set a hearing for Thursday afternoon so both sides can present their arguments.
Lawyers for the State of California want to prevent troops from accompanying federal agents on immigration raids.
In the lawsuit, the attorneys said they are not seeking to block the National Guard from protecting Federal buildings.
The lawsuit comes a day after California Governor Gavin Newsom sued President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Newsom's lawsuit is over the administration's decision to mobilize the National Guard to Los Angeles to aid in the federal response to immigration protests.
