Kennedy Ousts Entire CDC Vaccine Committee
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has removed all 17 members of the CDC's independent vaccine advisory committee.
The move marks a sweeping overhaul of a group that has long guided federal vaccination policy.
Kennedy accused the panel of being “plagued with conflicts of interest.”
He also criticized it as “little more than a rubber stamp for any vaccine.”
The advisory committee plays a key role in recommending who should receive specific vaccines and when.
Its guidance often influences decisions by pediatricians, schools, and public health agencies.
Critics say the removal could disrupt vaccine rollout efforts and erode public trust.
Supporters argue it's a necessary step toward restoring transparency and accountability.
It's currently unclear how soon Kennedy will appoint replacements.
Nor is it known who he intends to select for the newly vacated seats.
Despite the shakeup, the panel is still scheduled to meet later this month.
Sources say new appointees will likely lead that upcoming meeting.
