Cathedral City 911 System Temporarily Goes Down

Cathedral City Police say their 911 system is currently down.
The outage began around 7 a.m. this morning.
Officials are urging residents to text 911 or call a backup number in case of emergency.
The alternate number is being displayed on city communication channels and local broadcasts.
There’s no estimated time for full restoration.
Police say they’re working closely with their service provider to resolve the issue.
So far, Frontier has not confirmed the cause of the disruption.
This outage follows similar 911 issues reported this week in Palm Springs, Indio, and Coachella.
All affected cities share the same service provider, Frontier Communications.
The city is reminding residents to remain calm and use alternate contact methods if needed.
First responders remain fully operational despite the technical glitch.
Officials will release updates as they become available.
