Palm Springs Heats Up with the Big Gay BBQ This Weekend

Get your appetite — and your dance moves — ready! One of Palm Springs’ most delicious and beloved events returns this weekend: the Big Gay BBQ is taking over the Arenas District this Saturday and Sunday, June 14th and 15th.

Hosted with pride by the City of Palm Springs, the event is free to attend and promises two full days of hot beats, cool treats, and all the BBQ you can handle — with a side of fabulous.

Expect a sizzling weekend featuring: Live DJs and a band, backyard games, supersize fans to help you stay fresh and of course, a feast of BBQ from some of the region’s best vendors

The food lineup is mouth-watering:

• Wholy Smoke BBQ is bringing baby back ribs, pulled pork, chicken, hot links, peach cobbler, and classic BBQ sides.

• Deepest Cut is spicing things up with Mexican and Latin American-style BBQ plates.

• Papa’s BBQ offers smoked ribs, Tri-Tip, chicken, and homemade comfort sides.

• Uncle D’s Smokehouse will dish out brisket, pulled pork sandwiches, mac ‘n’ cheese, and “Not Yo Mama’s BBQ Baked Beans.”

• Gelato Granucci serves up locally made artisan gelato.

• Carl’s Concessions brings the fun with Hawaiian shave ice, lemonade, bacon dogs, and nachos.

The event is a celebration of community, inclusivity, and summertime joy in one of the city’s most iconic LGBTQ+ districts.
