Local Law Enforcement Seek To Educate The Public Following ICE Raids
The City Of Palm Springs Is Taking Proactive Measures With The On-Going Protests In Los Angeles And Locally In Cathedral City.
The Palm Springs Police Department Will Host A Free "Know Your Rights" Session on Thursday, June 12th, After The Recent Immigration Raids In Both The Valley And Los Angeles.
The Goal Is To Educate The Public About First Amendment Protections And Laws Surrounding Peaceful Demonstrations.
The Class Starts At 5 p.m. At The Department's Training Center At 200 South Civic Drive.
The Department Says Whether You're An Activist, An Organizer, Or Simply Interested In Knowing Your Rights, This Class Is For You.
It Comes On The Heels of A Number of Staged Protests in Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, And Palm Springs This Saturday.
Demonstrators Are Joining A Much Larger Movement Called "No Kings Day."
These Protests Coincide With Flag Day, The US Army's 250Th Anniversary, And Also President Donald Trump's Birthday.
Flyers Say These Protests Oppose Recent Actions Taken By The Trump Administration.
Nearby Rallies Are Also Planned In Beaumont, Joshua Tree, And Idyllwild.
