Indio Police Seek Community Help in Fatal Shooting Investigation

The Indio Police Department is asking residents to come forward with information following a fatal shooting Thursday night at a local motel that claimed the life of a 27-year-old man.

Officers responded to the Motel 6 at 82195 Indio Boulevard around 11:30 PM after receiving reports of a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene from his injuries, prompting investigators to launch a homicide investigation.

Detective Shane DaCosta is leading the investigation alongside IPD detectives and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's office. The victim's identity remains pending confirmation from the coroner's office as the investigation continues.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, making community assistance crucial to solving this case. Police are emphasizing that even seemingly minor details from residents could prove vital to investigators working to piece together what happened Thursday night.
