Equality Wine & Food Festival Returns to Palm Springs This Weekend, Celebrating Diversity in Wine & Culinary Arts

The third annual Equality Wine and Food Festival is bringing vibrant energy and meaningful celebration to downtown Palm Springs this weekend. Taking place at the Hyatt Palm Springs on Saturday, the event is centered on showcasing wines and culinary talents from women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people of color—underscoring diversity, inclusion, and community in the food and beverage industry.

NBC is proud to sponsor this year’s festival, and our own Caitlyn Kelley reported live from the heart of the action Friday evening, where the VIP pre-party was already in full swing.

“It is a party here in downtown Palm Springs,” said Kelley, describing the lively atmosphere. “We’ve got the wine flowing, we’ve got the charcuterie board out—all in preparation for what’s going to be an incredible weekend.”

Festival organizer Michael Westman shared the vision behind the event:

“What makes this event special is that we promote marginalized communities—women-owned wineries, LGBTQ-owned wineries, and wineries owned by people of color. It’s all about community, and that’s what we’re supporting.”

Friday’s VIP gathering served as a welcome event for media, vendors, and early attendees to mingle and prepare for Saturday’s main attraction. Over 60 vendors and more than 100 wine varietals are expected to be showcased during the full-day celebration.

Though online ticket sales have closed, Westman encouraged interested attendees to buy tickets at the door on Saturday between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. More information is available at equalitywinefest.com.

Festivalgoers can expect great wine, gourmet food, live music—including a set from DJ Thick Boy—and an uplifting, inclusive environment celebrating the people who are reshaping the industry from the inside out.
