Rancho Mirage Man Finds Relief from Parkinson’s Through Pilates, Now Helps Others
A Rancho Mirage man living with Parkinson’s disease has found new strength and relief through an unexpected source—Pilates.
Ron, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s several years ago, feared what his future might look like. “I thought I might be in a wheelchair within 10 years,” he said. “I didn’t know what to expect.”
That’s when he discovered Pilates, a low-impact exercise system focused on controlled movement, posture, and balance. As Ron began his sessions, he noticed not only physical improvements, but a significant reduction in his symptoms. “It sounds ridiculous to say,” he added, “but it’s a wonderful feeling when you can feel like you're walking like a normal person again.”
Motivated by the transformation, Ron became a certified Pilates instructor at Club Pilates in Rancho Mirage. Now he’s on a mission to help others living with Parkinson’s improve their strength, mobility, and confidence—one session at a time.
“This has changed my life,” he said, “and I want to share that with others.”
