In Major League Baseball news, Los Angeles Dodgers fans had something to celebrate Monday as three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani made a surprise return to the pitcher’s mound for the first time in nearly two years. Ohtani, who joined the Dodgers from the LA Angels, had been sidelined due to multiple surgeries on his elbow and shoulder.
Initially expected to return after the All-Star break in July, Ohtani was cleared early by Dodgers management and pitched the first inning of Monday’s game. While short, the appearance marked a key milestone in his comeback as both a pitcher and a hitter.
