GOP Congressman Blames Sanctuary Laws For Raids
A Republican Congressman is speaking out about the recent surge in federal immigration raids.
He posted a statement on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the post, he directly blamed California’s sanctuary policies for the increased activity.
According to the Congressman, these laws hinder ICE’s ability to detain individuals in a controlled setting.
He argued that sanctuary laws prevent the transfer of undocumented individuals from prisons and courthouses to federal authorities.
As a result, he claims ICE is forced to conduct operations in neighborhoods.
He called this shift both inefficient and dangerous.
The post accused Democrats in Sacramento of putting politics over public safety.
He wrote, "We must eliminate these dangerous sanctuary policies."
Supporters say he’s standing up for law enforcement.
Critics argue the post fuels fear and targets immigrant communities.
The debate over sanctuary policies continues to divide lawmakers in California and beyond.
