From Tennis Court to Turntables: DJ Mazro's Spin

Christian Rozpedski has built a name for himself both on and off the tennis court. The Palm Springs native, who started playing tennis as a child under the guidance of his tennis pro father, is now a respected coach at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. But when he’s not training young athletes or guiding clients through their strokes, he’s living a very different dream—as DJ Mazro.

Rozpedski, 25, says tennis was always about personal performance. “It was very individual. Making sure I had a great forehand, backhand, and volley,” he said. But now, as a coach, his focus has shifted. “It’s more about the client than me.”

That same philosophy carries over to his DJ persona. As DJ Mazro, he spins Top 40 hits alongside original tracks at Hotel Zoso's weekend pool parties. Two of his songs have already surpassed one million streams on Spotify. “Performing allows me to connect with the audience in a different way. It feels like one big family,” he said.

Balancing two careers isn’t easy, but Rozpedski finds similarities between coaching and performing. “They both require giving something from the heart. Whether I’m on the court or behind the turntables, it’s about making a connection.”

As DJ Mazro continues to grow his fan base, he says his dream is to one day perform at Coachella. Until then, he’s serving up volleys and beats with equal passion.
