Motocross, BMX, and Surfing Collide at Palm Springs Surf Club Event Week

NBC Palm Springs Sports Desk, brought to you by Agua Caliente Casinos — we have your game.

The energy is building at the Palm Springs Surf Club as it kicks off a full slate of adrenaline-pumping events. This weekend, athletes from across the action sports world are converging in the desert for an unprecedented lineup.

Motocross and BMX rider Kobe Graha will attempt to break a record, while skaters and surfers take over the venue for the Surf Club’s first-of-its-kind wave pool competition on Saturday, June 21, starting at 3 p.m.

Among the headliners is surfing legend Bruce Irons, who’s thrilled to be part of a surf event in an unlikely location.

“To have a wave pool, you know, getting to surf in the desert — it’s a cool thing,” Irons said. “This wave pool is really good. It packs a lot of power and it’s meant to hold a good venue. June 21st is gonna be a day you don’t want to miss.”

Irons will co-host the competition with fellow surfer Nathan Fletcher.

Tickets are still available at PalmSpringsSurfClub.com.
