Palm Springs Gears Up for Juneteenth Weekend Celebrations

The Palm Springs community is preparing for a vibrant weekend of Juneteenth events, honoring freedom and celebrating culture through music, food, and family fun.

Festivities kick off Thursday night at Village Fest in downtown Palm Springs, where attendees can enjoy live music, arts and crafts, and sweet treats to set the celebratory tone.

On Friday, the spotlight shifts to the popular King’s and Queen’s Pageant, showcasing community leaders and youth, followed by a high-energy tribute concert celebrating the music of Kool and the Gang.

The celebrations continue Saturday with the main event—the Unity Picnic. This community gathering promises food vendors, games, live entertainment, and opportunities for families and neighbors to come together in joy and reflection.

Organizers say Juneteenth is a time to honor the past while building a future rooted in unity and progress.
